Analyse the homepage for 2 E-commerce websites: including comparisons and features improvement

This is a comparison between two e - commerce websites 

Amazon(https://www.amazon.co.uk/)

Ebay(https://www.ebay.co.uk/)

The electronic commerce (e-commerce) movement is bigger than ever and only shows signs of becoming bigger. Under the purview of e-commerce companies, both eBay (EBAY) and Amazon (AMZN) stand out as longstanding, major players in the marketplace.

Both eBay and Amazon are online shopping sites, providing visitors the ability to browse through available products listed for sale or auction through each company's online storefront. While eBay and Amazon have both evolved over time to meet the needs of today's consumers, there are distinct differences between the two companies. Amazon and eBay differ in terms of business models and pricing, services for sellers, and ancillary services for buyers.(Team, T.I ,2022)

Similarities between the homepages of the two sites:

1. Both eBay and Amazon have wide array of products in the homepage including different categories a user may be interested in 

2. Both eBay and Amazon showcase any ongoing deals and discounts in the homepage so any new customer entering the website is aware. 

3. Both of them have a title bar with different tabs a user may be interested in.

4. Search bars are also present for easy searching 

5. They also both have the view cart option to see any items added to the cart 

6. A sign-in feature is also present between the two so any new users can sign up so the website can collect personal data such as the shipping address

Improvements that can be made to the sites:

1. More colour can be added to the homepage to highlight deals and discounts as the current layout lacks this and so user engagement may be lost. 

2. The size of the product images on amazon can be slightly reduced as the screen looks to packed with the current layout.
